- 💪 Yucyi — An Unbreakable Spirit Fighting for Independence
- Yucyi Kubash is a 22-year-old young man from Rwanda who faces physical challenges most of us cannot even imagine. Born without arms or legs, he lacks many of the basic abilities we often take for granted — such as walking, feeding himself, or moving independently.
- Yet every single day, Yucyi wakes up with an unbreakable spirit. He refuses to give up and continues fighting for his survival and for the chance to live a normal, independent life.
- Because he has no mobility equipment, Yucyi is forced to crawl on the ground just to move from one place to another.
- He does not ask for pity. He simply wants the opportunity to live with dignity.
- 💔 His Reality
- Despite everything he faces, Yucyi has never lost his faith. For him, being alive is already something worth being grateful for.
- However, his daily reality is incredibly difficult. He spends his days crawling across the floor and must rely entirely on the kindness of others to help him eat and meet his most basic needs.
- Yucyi’s greatest dream is to receive custom-fitted leg prosthetics. These prosthetics could completely transform his life by allowing him to stand, walk, and regain part of the independence he has always dreamed of.
- Unfortunately, the cost of the prosthetics, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and travel from Rwanda to the United States is far beyond what Yucyi can afford.
- ⚠️ A Daily Risk No Human Should Face
- Crawling on the ground every day places enormous strain on Yucyi’s body and takes away his independence:
- Constant exposure to rough surfaces, dirt, injuries, and infections
- Severe physical strain on his torso from moving without limbs
- Total dependence on others for food and basic survival needs
- Long-term health complications caused by the lack of proper mobility
- Without help, Yucyi may be forced to spend the rest of his life on the floor. With support, he can finally receive the opportunity to stand tall.
- 🎯 Our Goal: $30,000
- In partnership with the Whole Human Collective Non Profit Organization, more than $1,000 has already been raised.
- However, to bring Yucyi to the United States, provide proper medical treatment, and secure his custom prosthetics, we need to reach the total goal of $30,000.
- The funds will be used in the following stages:
- ✅ Stage 1 – $5,000: Travel Preparation & Immediate Support
- Visa processing, passports, and travel logistics from Rwanda to the United States
- Immediate nutritional assistance and basic living support
- Preliminary medical evaluations and specialist consultations
- ✅ Stage 2 – $20,000: Prosthetics & Medical Treatment
- Custom-fitted leg prosthetics designed specifically for Yucyi’s body
- Medical care, specialist appointments, and hospital expenses in the United States
- Intensive physical therapy to help Yucyi learn how to use his new prosthetics
- ✅ Stage 3 – $5,000: Rehabilitation & Long-Term Stability
- Ongoing occupational therapy to help Yucyi build independence
- Adaptive tools so he can work and feed himself with less assistance
- A safe transition and return journey home with his new mobility
